Ogilvy Government Relations announced today that it has hired two distinguished Republican partners, House Republican Conference Chief of Staff Dee Buchanan and Con Lass, Senior Director of Federal Relations for the American Petroleum Institute.
“We are extremely fortunate to be adding two individuals as talented and respected as Dee Buchanan and Con Lass,” said Chris Giblin, Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy Government Relations. “Dee and Con are both well-known for their work ethic and integrity. Lobbying is a talent-driven business, and Ogilvy Government Relations has hit a home run with the addition of these two highly-regarded House and Senate Republicans.”
Buchanan has served the last eight years as Chief of Staff and top policy adviser to House Republican Conference Chairman and Financial Services Committee Vice-Chairman Jeb Hensarling of Texas. For the past two years, Lass has headed the impressive lobbying staff of API. Earlier in his career, Lass worked for former Wyoming Governor Jim Geringer and former Wyoming Senators Alan Simpson and the late Craig Thomas.
“Dee Buchanan has been both my most trusted adviser and the leader of my team since before I arrived in Congress,” said Congressman Hensarling. “I know Dee as a born leader, a man of integrity, a true professional and someone who always finds a way to get the job done. But more importantly than being the ‘go-to’ guy in my congressional career, I have been blessed and will continue to be blessed to know him as my dear friend. I wish him well.”
Lass said: “I am excited to move from the role of client to partner with the great team at Ogilvy. I know first-hand the quality of service and the level of expertise the firm offers to its clients and I look forward to contributing to Ogilvy’s growth and success.”
Jack Gerard, president and CEO of API said, “Con Lass has been a valued member of our team. He has played a critical role in advancing API’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill, and informing Members of Congress about the important contribution the oil and natural gas industry plays in job creation and economic growth.”
